Tony was made MBE for his “services to scouting and young people in Warwickshire and Blackpool” in the 2015 Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
In 2002 GMC developed the concept of an electric light commercial vehicle and with London Taxi International built three demonstrators. Tony was then a founder Director of Modec Ltd, and as Sales Director and then Operations Director established Modec as a World Class producer of Electric Vehicles. Tony was awarded the “Green Fleet Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2005 “
Tony Guy has done so much for the Scout Movement with his passionate involvement in Gang Shows for over 54 years. Giving youngsters (and oldsters) their first (or maybe last) chance to experience the feeling of performing in front of a live audience, creating memories that last a lifetime for both the performers and the audiences who go to watch.
GMC is run by Tony Guy who has over 40 years experience as a director and senior manager in the automotive, foundry and executive furniture industries of which over 25 years were as an independent consultant. He works where he can implement his recommendations, often starting with a project and then as an interim manager.
Tony joined the 20th Blackpool Cub Scout Group aged 7 where he was a Senior Sixer, and achieved the Leaping Wolf and 10 proficiency badges
He then went on to join a Scout group and then Senior Scouts, he has spent most of his life very involved in the scouts.
